SKYPE AND LINUX ARE NOW STRONG
CLIENTS
Skype is
getting a proper Linux client. Given it a responsible alpha, there are
some other features missing, but it’s a good recommendable start for team
Linux.
To be very clear,
I mean speaking candidly, Skype already has a Linux client, but it had
been abandoned for a long period of time. Rather than just an update, this is
an all new app follows Skype’s modernized design standards which supports and
gives room for sending files, photos, and videos, as well as the modernized set
of emoji.
Meanwhile,
Skype is also consistently expanding its Web client features to enable
voice calls on Chrome for Linux and Chrome-books (previously you could
only use messaging features). Video calling and land-line calls are coming
‘soon.’
