It was a very big surprise today as ASUU officials of The University Of Lagos barged into Diploma classes today to disrupt their lectures. The officials claimed that the ongoing ASUU warning strike is compulsory for every institution in the country and Diploma students too are not left out.
Some of the students who were really concerned about their studies took time to ask the officials several questions but the most important question our correspondent could feature was when a girl asked an official, but the Diploma (now foundation programme) has nothing to do with ASUU and our programme is being runned by UNILAG, so how come ASUU strike affects us ?
And the official replied that "Even though the programme is not a federal government programme, we all know it's runned by Unilag, but if National ASUU officials and outsiders come into the school, they wouldn't understand that they are Foundation programme students, they would believe they are Unilag students, so for that case, everybody must take part in the strike so as to avoid any problem for the school.
Though some people are saying they would call back the diploma students to resume classes before the strike ends, nobody knows that yet. We would keep you updated as everything goes.
