11 KILLED IN CULT BATTLE IN OGUN STATE BY THE ‘Aye’ CONFRATERNITY
11 people have reportedly been killed in Ogun state
by the ‘Aye’ Confraternity with four others injured and property
including houses and cars destroyed.
The carnage which is reported to be in celebration
of the cults anniversary tagged 7/7, has degenerated into some sort of
civil war as the targets were said to be from rival cult group, the Eiye
confraternity.
But the OPC leader I the affected communities, the Igode and Fakale communities in the Sagamu LGA of Ogun State, Wole Oladunjo, however stated that innocent people were involved in the crossfire.
The assailants
reportedly killed 3 welders on their way back from work and then opened
fire on people watching football at a public viewing centre.
Wole stated that a number of the deceased were hardworking members of the community and had nothing to do with the cult impasse.
Idris Lawal, the Secretary of the OPC in the community, stated that the OPC will avenge the killings.
